As a leader in promoting gate safety, LiftMaster believes that it is essential for consumers to be compliant with UL 325 and ASTM F2200 requirements. With the update to UL 325 standard effective August 1, 2018, the importance of installer awareness is greater than ever. To promote safe gate operator system installations and gate safety, LiftMaster developed the Gate Safety Checklist video encouraging installers to use the LiftMaster site planning safety checklist to inspect swing and slide gate operators and ensure they meet safety standards.

“Serious accidents have resulted from slide gate systems being improperly installed and not using the appropriate safety entrapment protection devices,” said Jackie Lorenty, Vice President and General Manager, Perimeter Access Solutions for LiftMaster. “As the gate safety leader, not only do we provide UL 325 tested and approved gate operators and accessories, but we want to arm our dealers with knowledge to help them reduce injury risk.”

The new Gate Safety Checklist video is part of LiftMaster’s ongoing “Don’t Chance It. Check It.™” campaign to raise gate safety awareness. Since every installation is unique, installers need to ensure all entrapment zones are protected. The Gate Safety Checklist video demonstrates how installers can take a proactive approach with every installation by going through a list of updated UL325 and F2200 standards and providing proof of inspection to property managers and owners.
