Steve and Beth Bergh have been in the garage door opener business for over 40 years. What was once a husband and wife operation has grown into a fleet of 16 rigs whose dedication to serving the state of Alaska has taken the meaning of quality and service to a whole new level.

As you could imagine, making service calls in Alaska is no walk in the park. Some calls are in remote locations and can take up to 12 hours to reach. Steve and his team make these long distance service calls with their custom tractor-trailer in tow. The customized trailer has functioning water, a shower, toilet and beds to help make the trips more comfortable. A trailer shows quite the commitment, but their means of transportation don’t stop there. Steve and team have made calls via float planes, boats, snowmachines and 4-wheelers. They have even rowed a boat 200ft to and from shore with their supplies to reach a client.

When Steve and Beth aren’t traveling to service calls, they have their hands full with furry and feathery friends. Beth is often out and about with one of the couple’s three Irish Wolfhounds. Steve, on the other hand, loves everything to do with flight. He has been an avid falconer for many years, currently owning a Golden Eagle and five Gyr Falcons and also his own plane. He loves to take it for a spin when he has a spare moment.

Needless to say, the Door Systems of Alaska crew is full of unique stories – thanks for sharing some with us!

You won’t find a couple that is more caring and generous than Steve and Beth. It is evident in everything that they do. It’s one of the many reasons that Door Systems of Alaska has been as successful as we have. ” -Jason Slater, Employee.
